Responsibilities in your new role 

  • Assist in the preparation and design of all food and drink menus
  • Produce high-quality plates both in terms of design and taste
  • Fill in for the head chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary
  • Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications 

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience as a Sous Chef within a fine dining environment. Proficiency in pastry would be advantageous. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of diverse cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures. A proven track record in kitchen and staff management is essential. The ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations, offering accurate solutions with speed, is also required.
