Your rate of pay and hours of work

Offering a competitive pay rate ranging from up to £16.00 per hour, you'll enjoy the convenience of weekly payments and the added benefit of accumulating holiday pay. The position provides a variety of flexible shifts, including both weekdays and weekends, spread across multiple venues in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

As a temporary worker, you'll have the autonomy to choose shifts that align with your schedule, granting you the freedom to work at your convenience. With no minimum commitment required, you can enjoy peace of mind and job security while having the flexibility to select your own working hours.

 

Responsibilities within your new role

The Sous Chef is a key position in the kitchen, responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations. They play a crucial role in food preparation, ensuring that dishes meet high-quality standards and are visually appealing. You may be involved in menu planning, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Kitchen management is also part of your duties, organising workstations and supervising kitchen staff for efficient and productive operations. The Sous Chef oversees food safety and hygiene practices to maintain a clean and compliant kitchen environment. Additionally, you may handle inventory and ordering, ensuring that ingredients and supplies are well-stocked.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

Prior work experience in a kitchen, preferably as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role, is valuable for understanding kitchen operations and procedures. Proficiency in various cooking techniques, food presentation, and knowledge of different cuisines are essential skills for creating high-quality dishes. Additionally, experience in menu planning and development, considering seasonal ingredients and customer preferences, is advantageous for contributing to the establishment's culinary offerings.
