Your rate of pay and hours of work

With a competitive pay rate of up to £16.00 per hour, this opportunity offers weekly payments and the advantage of accumulating holiday pay. The position comes with a range of flexible shifts, spanning both weekdays and weekends, and is available at various venues in Edinburgh and its surrounding areas.

Responsibilities within your new role

As a Sous Chef, you hold a vital role in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations. Your main responsibility lies in food preparation, ensuring that dishes meet high-quality standards and are visually appealing. Additionally, you may contribute to menu planning, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Efficiently organising workstations and supervising kitchen staff for productivity is another crucial aspect of your duties. Ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed to maintain a clean and compliant kitchen environment is of utmost importance. Moreover, you may also be involved in inventory management and ordering, ensuring a well-stocked supply of ingredients and necessary supplies. Your multifaceted role plays a significant part in the success of the kitchen and the overall culinary experience for customers.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

Having previous work experience in a kitchen, ideally as a Chef de Partie or in a similar position, is highly beneficial as it provides valuable insights into kitchen operations and procedures. Mastery of various cooking techniques, food presentation, and a diverse knowledge of cuisines are essential skills for crafting high-quality and delicious dishes. Moreover, experience in menu planning and development, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences, proves advantageous in enhancing the culinary offerings of the establishment.
