As a Business Services Accountant, you will work for a broad collection of clients such as banks, accountancy firms and even recruitment firms, ensuring that businesses conform with their tax requirements and providing support with future planning. Within a Business Services role, your day to day responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements and supplying expert monetary advice to your client base. Some organisations may even require you to conduct payroll and bookkeeping, dependent on the client’s needs.

You will be readily available to answer any financial or tax-related inquiries and be able to assist with tax planning. Business Services Accountants may also be responsible for analysing client information, provide assistance in tax returns and occasionally set up legal entities. Multitasking is essential if you are a Business Services Accountant, as you will working with a broad range of clients whilst being able to manage your own time and organise effectively is advantageous.

What do I need to qualify for a Business Services role?

Business Services Accountants must have completed a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a degree which falls into the accounting field. Organisations may also request that professionals have acquired an AAT qualification. As a Business Services Accountant, you are required to have a strong understanding of accounting standards and practices, as well as exceptional numeracy skills and attention to detail.
