Stafffinders are looking for a Catering Assistant to join our care home client based in Duns, in the Scottish Borders.

 

Your rate of pay and hours of work

In this position, you will be compensated with a competitive hourly wage of £11.44, paid weekly with holiday pay accrued. The schedule for this role consists of split shifts on Thursdays and Saturdays, spanning from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and later from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

 

Responsibilities within your new role

  • Supporting the chef in food preparation, upholding stringent standards of hygiene and safety throughout the process

  • Attending to residents with respect and efficiency, considering their specific dietary requirements

  • Thoroughly cleaning both kitchen and dining spaces post-service

  • Guaranteeing adherence to all health and safety regulations

  • Collaborating seamlessly with the team to facilitate the operation of kitchen functions

 

Your experience, qualifications and personality

This role as a Catering Assistant requires a current PVG certificate as a prerequisite. Additionally, candidates should possess a minimum of six months of relevant experience in a similar kitchen environment. Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, are paramount, along with the capacity to adapt to the evolving demands of the position.
