Warehouse Managers are primarily responsible for the day to day running of a warehouse whilst ensuring that the warehouse has the optimum number of staff to work in the various positions within the warehouse. A Warehouse Manager will ensure that goods are delivered and stored correctly and efficiently, combined with tracking stock levels to keep up with demand. As a Warehouse Manager, they will also be in charge of recruiting and training up new staff, whilst sorting daily work schedules.

Typically, Warehouse Managers would work a normal 37 to 40 hours per week, often on a shift basis with the opportunity to work overtime to meet the needs of the business. You will likely spend most of your day in an office however this can be a very hands-on role and you could be required to be on the floor throughout the day to monitor the day to day running of the warehouse.

What are the qualification and salary expectations of a Warehouse Manager role?

To embark on a career in Warehouse Management, employers may require qualifications or excellent proven experience within a Warehouse role. You will require great leadership skills and excellent numeracy and IT skills, whilst having incredible communication and management skills.

As a Warehouse Manager, you salary will range from £18,000 to £23,000 although in more senior Warehouse Manager jobs, you could earn up to £40,000 per annum.
