Driving Instructors within the industrial sector are responsible for teaching drivers how to correctly manage an HGV or an LGV in order to deliver goods in a safe and efficient manner. To become a driving instructor that can focus on these types of vehicle, you must have had secured your driving licence for at least 3 years.

LGV and HGV driving instructors are not obliged to conduct any formal training to supervise someone who is learning to drive an LGV or HGV but are advised to register via the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
