Tax and VAT Accounting professionals are responsible for supervising and preparing tax compliance reports combined with providing tax-related advice to a variety of clients. You will be required to keep all tax regulations within the business up to date and detailing any new practices introduced. This role also involves the preparation of tax payments and financial reports, whilst supporting the development of tax or VAT strategies to improve future business practices and help meet the companies overall objectives.

How do I qualify for a role in Taxation / VAT?

In order to secure a position in Tax / VAT Accountancy, you will require a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a similar subject. Some clients will also prefer if accounting professionals have an ACCA or CIMA qualification, whilst being able to demonstrate mathematical skills and advanced Excel knowledge.

You will have a strong understanding of tax and VAT practices, combined with knowledge of accountancy and bookkeeping methods. Successful Tax and VAT accountants will have excellent attention to detail and proficient time management skills to ensure deadlines are met effectively.
