Every year Stafffinders raise money for a chosen Charity by taking part in various fundraising events and activities. Cash for Kids was chosen for 2016 and the team has been very busy raising money for this amazing Charity. Here’s what they have been up to thus far…
When the Stafffinders Charity Squad announced Cash for Kids as their charity sponsor for 2016, the team was a buzz of excitement and enthusiasm. Based across 21 areas throughout the UK, Cash for Kids respond to the needs of children aged 0-18 in our communities so they can live life to the full and realise their potential. This includes children who are disabled, disadvantaged or suffering from abuse and neglect. Headlining 2016 was the Glasgow Kiltwalk and Clyde 1’s Superhero Day, and the team couldn’t wait to get started!
First on the list was the Glasgow Kiltwalk, a 14 mile walk from Clydebank to Balloch. With a number of new staff members joining the ever expanding Stafffinders team and some good weather starting to show, the day was the perfect mix of laughter, light sunburn and blisters.
The team was joined by Thomas – the beloved pooch of Commercial Consultant Chloe – who stole the hearts of many with his hand made tartan tammy, kilt, and bowtie! Even the Paisley Daily Express couldn’t keep away! (Read their full story here).
With 14 miles finished, it was time to relax and enjoy the accomplishment of raising over £500 for children living in need throughout Glasgow and the West of Scotland. Stafffinders CEO Jane Wylie-Roberts spoke of the event saying:
“We’re really proud to be sponsoring Cash for Kids Scotland this year. Supporting and increasing the awareness of local charities is something that we’re really passionate about within the company. As a family business, being able to help children and families is extremely satisfying, and so the Kiltwalk has been the perfect opportunity for us to give something back to the community.”
The second event of year was Cash for Kids Superhero Day, sponsored by local radio station Clyde 1. The day raised over £56,000 for Cash for Kids, with donations still coming in. Notable celebrities lending their support included Ant & Dec.
Across Scotland, Stafffinders’ offices were transformed from every day employment heroes to Justice fighting Superheroes! Costume of the day went to Senior Chef Consultant Paul McAlpine and his full body Deadpool outfit.
Batman and Superman tied as the most popular Superhero dress up in the office, with both Catwomen and Wonder Women also making an appearance.
With donations from the Kiltwalk and Superhero Day totalling over £890, Stafffinders is extremely grateful for all donations and the constant support from the community. Stafffinders is delighted to have been involved in two fantastic and special events, and would like to congratulate everyone who has been involved in making them happen.
