What Does an Infrastructure Manager Do?

An Infrastructure Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of an organisation’s IT systems. You’ll collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Technical Account Managers to design and deliver scalable solutions that meet business needs. You’ll also act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable insights. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and managing an annual infrastructure refresh plan

  • Developing and reviewing infrastructure standards, policies, and documentation

  • Managing suppliers and third-party vendors, ensuring service excellence and cost efficiency

This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on expertise to ensure that systems are robust, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
