55 Years of Recruitment

Stafffinders is Scotland's original family-run recruitment agency, started in 1970 by Bryan Scouller, our current CEO Jane Wylie-Roberts' father.

Established in 1971, Stafffinders was founded in St Mirren Brae, Paisley, by the father of the current owner and CEO, Jane Wylie-Roberts.

Staying true to our roots, our headquarters remain in the heart of Paisley town centre, proudly serving clients across Scotland and beyond.

With over 55 years of recruitment expertise, Stafffinders delivers a trusted, specialist service to a diverse range of clients, from start-ups and family businesses to SMEs, large corporates, Fortune 500 companies, and public sector organisations. We recruit across multiple industries including Hospitality, IT, Industrial, Office Support, Legal, Accountancy & Finance, and Property & Surveying, to name a few.

Our understanding of the marketplace allows us to recognise the nuances of local dynamics, salary expectations, and industry-specific requirements. No matter your sector, Stafffinders provides genuine consultancy paired with a fully tailored recruitment approach to support your business goals, both now and in the future.

As a proud family-run business, we understand the unique value that family enterprises bring to their communities. That’s why we take great pride in being recognised as industry leaders in providing exceptional talent solutions to family businesses

1970 - First Office in Paisley

Bryan Scouller opened the very first Stafffinders office in Paisley in 1971. Back in the 1970s, the concept of a recruitment agency was still new to many, few people understood how it could support both job seekers and employers alike. The early team dedicated significant time and effort to educating businesses and candidates on the benefits of using a recruitment agency, laying the foundations for the trusted service and strong relationships that continue to define Stafffinders today.

Rotary

Jane first joined the Rotary in the 1990s, becoming one of the first two women to join Paisley Rotary, alongside Liz Cameron, now Chief Executive of the Scottish Chambers of Commerce. During her time with the Rotary, Jane helped drive several community initiatives, including organising a ceilidh that raised funds to provide mobility scooters for local residents in Paisley. She also led a collection of thousands of used spectacles from across the town, which were donated to communities in Africa to enhance vision and employment opportunities.

Early Adverts

In the early days of Stafffinders, advertising looked a little different! From bold newspaper placements to eye-catching posters and local bulletin boards, our early adverts captured the spirit of the times while introducing the idea of recruitment to businesses and job seekers across Scotland. These vintage adverts not only highlight how far we’ve come as a company but also showcase the creativity and determination that helped establish Stafffinders as one of Scotland’s leading recruitment agencies.

Temp's

Looking back at these adverts offers a glimpse into how temporary work, once a new concept, became a trusted solution for employers and candidates alike, thanks to Stafffinders’ dedication to matching the right people with the right opportunities.

Stafffinders Christmas Parties

This photo features Jane’s dad, Bryan, enjoying one of our Stafffinders Christmas parties! Our team loves to celebrate the festive season and, over the years, we’ve partied the night away at some fantastic venues including Ubiquitous Chip, Radisson Blu, Malmaison, One Up, and Bo Vine.

Jane

Jane has been the CEO of Stafffinders since 2006. While managing the company Jane has done some incredible things, including being honoured with the title "Pioneer to the Life of the Nation" by the late Queen Elizabeth II. Being selected for the first cohort of the Growth Advantage Programme, serving as a trustee for the Bairdwatson Charitable Trust, being a dedicated advocate of Family Business United. And most recently, Jane was proudly selected to be a part of the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women EMEIA Class of 2024, as one of two women selected from Scotland.

Race

The Stafffinders Team Race was founded by Jane’s sister, whose passion for running inspired this fantastic annual event. Designed to raise money for a range of charities, with one of the last being the British Heart Foundation, the race brought together staff, clients, and candidates for a fun and energetic day out. Participants laced up their running shoes for a 5K run for adults and a 1K course for children around Murdoch Country Park.

A team outing to Millport is another team summer activity. It gives the team a chance to unwind, enjoy the sea air, and spend some quality time together.

Staff BBQ

Every September, the Stafffinders team comes together for our much-loved annual BBQ. A chance to relax, celebrate, and enjoy great food and company after a busy summer. Hosted by Jane and Tamlin at their home, it’s always a highlight of the year, filled with laughter, good food, and plenty of team spirit.
