Responsibilities in your new role as Head Banqueting Chef

As Head Banqueting Chef, you'll lead the banqueting kitchen, delivering exceptional dining experiences across everything from intimate celebrations to large-scale luxury events. You'll inspire your team, champion creative menus featuring seasonal Scottish produce and work closely with hotel management to maintain outstanding culinary standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing banqueting operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, presentation and efficient service.
• Creating innovative menus showcasing fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
• Leading, motivating and developing your kitchen brigade, encouraging high performance and professional growth.
• Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen organisation.
• Managing budgets, food costs and stock control to achieve departmental targets.
• Collaborating with hotel management and events teams to deliver seamless, memorable dining experiences.

Your personality, experience and qualifications

We're seeking an experienced culinary leader who combines outstanding technical ability with the confidence, creativity and commercial understanding needed to manage a high-performing banqueting kitchen.

You'll bring proven experience as a Head Banqueting Chef, Banqueting Head Chef, Head Events Chef or in a comparable senior culinary leadership role, ideally within a luxury hotel, premium events venue or high-end hospitality environment. You'll also demonstrate:

• A strong background in delivering exceptional food for banquets, events and large-scale dining occasions.
• A genuine passion for seasonal ingredients, local produce and creating memorable culinary experiences.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop kitchen teams while maintaining consistently high standards.
• Excellent organisational skills and the confidence to oversee multiple events and competing priorities.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including departmental budgets, cost control and operational performance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across kitchen, events and hotel management teams.
• A professional, hands-on leadership style, exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
