We are thrilled to announce our partnership with a renowned bespoke textile manufacturer located in Darvel, Ayrshire. We are currently searching for a skilled Weaver to join their vibrant workshop and contribute to their bustling operations.

This position offers a schedule from Monday to Thursday, allowing you to enjoy an extended weekend every week! The work rotation consists of one week of early shifts (6:15am to 4:00pm) followed by a week of back shifts (4:00pm to 1:45am). The company provides a convenient taxi service to Kilmarnock at the end of every back shift.

Responsibilities within your new role

As the Weaver, you will be responsible for weaving fine cotton on shuttle looms, fixing warp neds, weft breaks, lappet breaks and tensions and ensuring quality on all looms. You will also maintain a minimum of 10 looms and ensure they are clean, tidy and operative at all times. You will tie in thread bobbins to ensure there is enough thread available for weaving and work with a team of other talented Weavers/Technicians to operate the looms efficiently.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

To succeed in this role as Weaver, you should have previous weaving experience – preferably with shuttle looms – as well as experience working with fine yarns. Attention to detail is essential as well as the ability to withstand being on your feet all day long. The ideal candidate should be able to take instruction from supervisors when required.
