We are working with an award-winning hotel that invites passionate chefs to lead their culinary journey as their new Head Chef. This role is initially to cover maternity leave, however, there is scope for permanent extension.

 

What you will get in your new role

This role offers a salary of £32,000 per annum, along with several benefits including affordable staff accommodation, discounted food/drink during shifts, and free on-site parking. The work pattern is 5/7 days with a weekly changing rota.

Responsibilities within your new role

Within this role as Head Chef, you'll be at the forefront of leading the kitchen team through various service periods, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation. Your role extends to managing the intricacies of stock ordering and processing, along with upholding rigorous standards set forth by HACCAP, COSSH, and EHO guidelines. Additionally, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team by providing mentorship and training opportunities to junior members is integral. Furthermore, your creative input and collaboration in menu development endeavours will shape the culinary offerings, reflecting innovation, customer preferences, and seasonal trends.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

This position is suitable for either a Sous Chef aspiring to advance or a Head Chef seeking a new challenge. While island experience is advantageous, it is not obligatory. The role requires the capability to effectively coordinate and oversee a small team of chefs, along with a proactive and forward-thinking approach. Demonstrating a high level of leadership is essential for this opportunity, along with displaying a strong passion for creating delicious culinary delicacies.
