What you will get in your new role
- A competitive salary package of up to £32,000 per annum.
- Benefit from an hourly rate of pay, ensuring you are compensated for every hour worked.
- Shifts between 8am and 4:30pm, working 5 out of 7 days.
- Experience a fantastic work-life balance with only one evening per month required for special events and one full weekend off per month.
- Approx. a 15 minute drive from Greenock, and also close to public transport links.
Responsibilities in your new role as Cafe Bistro Chef
- Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of fresh, high-quality dishes, consistently adhering to menu specifications and high standards.
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, from efficient setup to smooth service flow.
- Maintain an impeccably clean and organised workspace.
- Rigorously follow all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, effectively rotate ingredients, minimise waste, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate closely with management and front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service and an exceptional dining experience for every customer.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
We are searching for a chef with proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen environment, demonstrating the ability to excel under fast service requirements. You will possess a strong background in preparing and cooking dishes using fresh, seasonal produce, consistently delivering to high-quality standards.
The ideal candidate will showcase a natural ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintaining speed, accuracy, and impeccable presentation during busy service periods. Solid experience with food safety and hygiene standards, coupled with the safe handling of fresh ingredients, is essential.
Any previous involvement in stock control, prep planning, and minimising waste in a fast-paced hospitality kitchen setting will be highly valued.
