Head Housekeeper is the title given to the individual in charge of the entire housekeeping department in a hotel. They may also go by other titles, including Housekeeping Manager, Director of Housekeeping and Executive Housekeeper. In the realm of Head Housekeeper responsibilities, the primary focus is on ensuring that all rooms and public areas are meticulously cleaned, well-presented, and prepared to welcome new guests. Essential tasks include assigning daily cleaning duties and providing Housekeepers with items such as keys, linens, and cleaning materials. This role plays a crucial part in upholding the hotel's cleaning standards and surpassing guests' expectations.


Additionally, Head Housekeepers are often the first to notice any damage or safety concerns that require attention. It is their responsibility to promptly and accurately report these issues. In larger establishments, they may oversee multiple Housekeepers and Supervisors, while in smaller hotels, the team may be smaller. In either case, the role involves teamwork, as well as motivating and managing staff. At times, Head Housekeepers may also directly participate in cleaning tasks themselves.
