Scotlands hospitality sector the place to be!
If you were considering a career in hospitality, recent reports in the national press should definitely nudge you in the right direction, according to Stafffinders' Graeme Reid. In a recent survey, Scotlands hospitality sector outperformed the rest of the UK, outside of London, in 2014.
Results have Aberdeen coming out on top with the highest level of hotel revenue, with Edinburgh posting strongly in fourth. For Scotland as a whole, revenue increased by an impressive 11%, with Glasgow demonstrating the biggest UK-wide jump, posting a massive 26% increase on the previous year.
2015 promises to be a bumper year for Scotland again, with reports suggesting Edinburgh will be one of only three European cities (along with London & Paris) to have occupancy rates over 80%. Other cities promise growth as well with a variety of international events taking place including the World Gymnastics Championships at SSE Hydro, Turner Prize 2015 at the Tramway and The 144th Open Golf Championship at St. Andrews.
So whether you work front or back of house, 2015 looks like an exciting time to be working in Scotland's hospitality industry.
