Meet the Recruiter - Ryan Harper

Why did you decide to enter the recruitment industry?

I didn’t really I was pushed into it by a friend when I was in Ibiza, he thought I would be well suited to it. This was after I decided I didn’t want to be a secondary school teacher, three months into the role and 5 years of studying later.

How would you describe your role at Stafffinders?

The majority of my time at Stafffinders has been spent in lockdown so…. challenging to say the least, but we have been very fortunate to have such caring management through this time. It is all the more rewarding when you find someone a new role.

What is the most rewarding part of being in recruitment?

I love when you speak to a candidate who has a real passion for what they do, it makes our job so much easier. The more you sell yourself to us, the more we can sell you to our clients! Finding a person like that a new opportunity is very rewarding.

How do you spend your free time outside of work?

Have a bit of an issue with spending money on home improvements/furniture these days. Big fan of Bikram Yoga, although not sure when they will open back up. Enjoy cooking, nice wine, gin. Seeing friends …1 household at a time (thanks Nicola). Travel whenever I possibly can. Looking after my wee Siamese cat Simon.

What would you say your favourite motto is

Namasté

What’s a fun fact about yourself?

The only continent I haven’t visited is Antarctica (watch this space).

Who inspires you?

Tom Ford – Simple, classic and timeless.
