Why did you decide to enter the recruitment industry?
I graduated from University in IT just as the recession hit in 2008 and I struggled to get a graduate/trainee role so thought I would move into IT recruitment and get myself a job when the market picked up again… over 12 years later I’m still working within IT recruitment and have achieved a lot in my career so far.
How would you describe your role at Stafffinders?
I am responsible for driving forward the IT Division across Paisley & Edinburgh and look after both the permanent and contract teams. I am also responsible for helping drive the overall strategy of the business.
What is the most rewarding part of being in recruitment?
The most rewarding aspect of our role is helping someone within their profession realise their perfect role which will, in turn, allow them to achieve their professional ambitions.
How do you spend your free time outside of work?
Most of my time outside of work is spent with my family, two kids and watching my favourite football team. I also love live music and go to as many gigs as possible when I can.
What’s a fun fact about yourself?
I played football from when I was seven for twenty years, playing at various levels within the game.
What would you say your favourite motto is?
Work smarter, not harder.
Who do you look up to / Who inspires you?
I have always looked up to my parents and followed the great examples they always set in their lives.
