Responsibilities in your new role as the Sous or Senior Sous Chef

Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen, particularly during their absence

Prepare and present dishes to the highest possible standard, ensuring consistency and quality

Assist the Head Chef with cost control measures, including inventory management and minimising waste

Contribute to recipe development and menu planning, bringing creativity and innovation to the offerings

Implement and oversee stringent health and safety practices within the kitchen

Ensure effective allergen control and compliance with all relevant regulations

Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment
Your personality, experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role at the Sous Chef level, with a background in high-volume venues being highly desirable. They should possess strong culinary skills with a keen eye for detail, along with excellent knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations. The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously is essential, as are strong leadership and communication skills. A passion for cooking and a commitment to maintaining high standards are paramount.
