Join our fantastic client as a temporary Machine Operator at their leading manufacturing company in Glasgow! They are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and finish.
What you will get in your new role
This temporary position offers free on-site parking and requires working hours from Monday to Friday. The pay rate is £14.50 per hour, with weekly wages, and holiday pay accrued.
Responsibilities within your new role as a Machine Operator
Key responsibilities include ensuring product quality before processing, finishing products to meet company standards, and maintaining equipment according to start-up procedures. This role involves managing stock control, processing components accurately per the coating sheet, and assuming full responsibility for manufacturing components. Additional duties include overseeing internal manufacturing processes, coordinating with store operatives for secure handover of coated goods, following shutdown procedures, and performing both active and reactive equipment maintenance.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
The role requires meticulous attention to detail and basic knowledge of the safe operation of hand and power tools. Strong customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise and delegate tasks effectively. The candidate must gather, analyse, and solve problems using recognised techniques, while adhering to manufacturing regulations and being computer literate. Excellent communication skills are a must, as is the ability to research and comply with relevant product standards. Preferred qualifications include basic mechanical engineering knowledge and a foundational understanding of process manufacturing.
Due to the nature of this work, masks must be worn to shield against the strong smells of fumes.
