An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join our established property client at their office based in the heart of Edinburgh. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity reporting directly to the Commercial Director and is a key leadership role with end-to-end responsibility of all areas of finance.

Your excellent people management and interpersonal skills will be highly useful within this post when leading a small, hard-working finance team.

Your new job responsibilities

This job involves setting and managing the department timetable, overseeing any maintenance and control of all ledgers including monthly review and will be responsible for final stage authorisation of all invoices/valuations prior to posting, including allocation review.

You will oversee timely payment of all suppliers/subcontractors, review and sign off all suggested payment reports, interim stage BACS reports, review and sign off all reconciliations and month end reports and management of standard journals and assist with budgeting/forecasting.

Other responsibilities include assisting with audit and year end accruals/prepayments, Fixed Asset Register management, staff appraisals and assist Commercial Director with ad hoc analysis / calculations for reporting purposes

Due to the nature of this business, you will be required to assist with any overdue accounts, including liaison with property managers.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Proficient user of SAGE
  • Both fully and part qualified candidates are welcomed to apply.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience leading a small team
