Booking Agent
Are you currently working in hospitality but looking for a change? If you're eager to continue leveraging your exceptional customer service skills while saying goodbye to late nights and the routine of weekend shifts, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! We're offering a role that allows you to maintain your passion for customer care in a more structured environment, with better work-life balance and the chance to grow your career in a new direction.
We are searching for a talented Booking Agent to join a renowend company in Glasgow. You'll be joining a friendly reservations team of 4, which make up part of the wider office with around 20 colleagues.
Your rate of pay and hours of work
The salary for this role is a generous £25,116 per annum. As our client operates 24/7, you'll enjoy a structured shift schedule with rotating shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:30 PM, Monday to Friday, plus one weekend shift every four weeks. This flexible mix of early and late shifts offers a more balanced work-life arrangement, providing greater consistency than the demanding hours often found in hospitality (lots of late nights and weekend work!). It's an ideal setup for those seeking a more stable schedule, allowing you to prioritise your free time.
Some of the company benefits you'll also receive include:
- Christmas bonus
- Loyalty holidays
- Buying extra annual leave
- Cycle to work scheme
- Enhanced sick pay
- Employee rate transfer
- Company social events
- Paid volunteer time
- Life assurance
- Company pension scheme
Your new employer
You will be joining a family-led business with a strong heritage, which is looking to expand its talented team at a time of growth. This organisation is located in Glasgow, with great transport links available nearby. Despite small beginnings, current turnover is in the region of £4/5 million, with increases expected as the company continues to thrive.
Responsibilities within your new role as the Booking Agent
As the Bookings Agent, you will manage all aspects of travel arrangements, for events across the world, from providing detailed information on pricing, availability, and travel policies to handling inquiries and modifications to reservations. You'll play a key role in ensuring client satisfaction by promptly addressing concerns and resolving issues. In addition, you'll maintain precise records, collaborate effectively with the broader team, and contribute to the seamless operations of the business.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a background in customer service, and experience in hospitality would be a great advantage. This role is perfect for someone who currently works in the hospitality sector who is looking to transition into a more structured work environment while still utilising their customer service expertise. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and be highly organised with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Strong geographical knowledge of Scotland is a plus, and fluency in English is essential (additional languages are a bonus!).
