Sous Chef - with accommodation

Would you like the chance to live and work as a Sous Chef on the beautiful Isle of Islay?

In joining our incredible client, you will receive shared house accommodation, meals on shift, the opportunity to earn generous tips and learn from the highly talented Head Chef. You will initially be working 45 hours over 5 days, with the plan to go to a 4 day working week once the full team is in place.

Featuring a fantastic restaurant, serving hearty meals with fresh seasonal produce and a relaxing bar to enjoy a tipple or two, this traditional boutique hotel offers fantastic service and accommodation facilities for locals and tourists alike.

 

Responsibilities within your new role

As the new Sous Chef, you will take pride in assisting in the day to day running of the hotel’s kitchen. You will work with brigade at this highly popular hotel to prepare and serve some of the finest ingredients that Scotland has to offer.

Within your new role, you will also assist in creating innovative and exciting seasonal dishes and menus, whilst presenting them in a professional manner. You will deputise in the Head Chef’s absence and work closely with the kitchen team to also ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

We would love to speak to determined Sous Chefs and Chef de Parties, who have a genuine passion for creating delicious dishes for a variety of clientele. As an individual you should have excellent attention to detail, possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to meet targets in a fast-paced environment.

Above all else, we are looking for an innovative Chef with the drive and ambition to successfully support a well-established kitchen combined with supporting the journey of younger Chefs to create a strong, dedicated team.
