Your rate of pay and hours of work

The schedule for this position spans from Thursday to Sunday, with working hours set from 12 pm to 10 pm. Initially, it is a temporary role, with a view of permanency after a few weeks for the suitable candidate. The hourly pay for this position is £18, resulting in an annual salary of £37,440 for a 40-hour workweek.

Responsibilities within your new role

As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in the general running of the kitchen, managing the kitchen and service in their absence. Overseeing the kitchen personnel and assigning responsibilities, you will lead a team of chefs in the cooking and preparation of meals. This includes monitoring food quality, supervising cooking techniques, and maintaining high standards of quality and timeliness in the kitchen. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing inventory, exercising control over stock, and ensuring compliance with health and hygiene standards.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

To excel as the new Sous Chef, a dynamic and collaborative personality is crucial, as the role involves leading a team of culinary professionals with precision and creativity. The ideal candidate should boast a proven track record of at least one year as a Sous Chef in a high-end culinary environment, demonstrating a mastery of diverse cooking techniques and a deep understanding of fine-dining standards.
