We are seeking a skilled and passionate Commis Chef to join our client in Fort William, a renowned establishment known for its exceptional dining experiences. As a Commis Chef, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting a team of talented chefs in delivering culinary excellence.

Responsibilities within your new role

In this role as Sous Chef, you will work closely with the restaurant team to understand customer expectations, handle complaints promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction. It will be your responsibility to consistently prepare and cook food to the specified standards and train the team accordingly. Being a team player and maintaining flexibility is essential for guest-focused, efficient, and profitable operations. You will also be accountable for adhering to health and safety policies, ensuring the kitchen is fully prepared and stocked for service, and overseeing the performance of the entire kitchen team.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess previous experience working in high-level properties, such as Michelin-starred or 3 AA Rosette venues. You should be able to go beyond meeting guest expectations and strive to exceed them in terms of flavour, substance, and presentation. The food prepared should showcase exquisite taste, innovative combinations, and meticulous attention to detail. While exceeding guest expectations, it is important that the candidate ensures that the food aligns with the company's established standards and maintains strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
