Your rate of pay and hours of work

This is an exciting temporary opportunity with a competitive pay rate ranging from £11.00 to £13.00 per hour. You will receive weekly payments, and on top of that, you will accumulate holiday pay. The position offers a range of flexible shifts, including weekdays and weekends, across multiple venues in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

As a temporary worker, you will have the freedom to choose the shifts that best fit your schedule, providing you with the flexibility to work when it suits you. Moreover, there is no minimum commitment required, ensuring you have security and peace of mind while enjoying the freedom to select your own working hours.

 

Responsibilities within your new role

As a Commis Chef, your primary responsibility will be supporting the Head Chef in maintaining smooth food service operations and creating delectable dishes with exquisite presentation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to showcase your skills by preparing speciality dishes featured on the 'specials' menus and overseeing the function menus.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the front-of-house team and other departments to foster effective communication and ensure customer satisfaction. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the kitchen team is well-prepared for service and that the kitchen is stocked to the highest standards.

As a proactive Commis Chef, you will also take an active role in mentoring and inspiring junior team members, fostering a cohesive and productive working environment.

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

We are actively searching for an exceptional Chef with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a Commis role or equivalent. Our ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and excellent communication skills to facilitate seamless coordination between the kitchen and front-of-house teams.

As an individual, you should demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and thrive in a high-pressure environment where meeting targets is paramount.
