Stafffinders are currently on the lookout for kitchen porters for various, exciting events, restaurants, hotels and other hospitality venues based in the heart of Glasgow. In case you didn’t know us already, we are a staffing agency who are proud to have secured an exceptional reputation built up over 50 years, specialising in sourcing excellent opportunities for dedicated hospitality staff, and we would love to welcome you on board. Our temporary assignments are located in and around the Glasgow city centre area, many with immediate starts to get you on your way as soon as possible.

 

Your rate of pay and hours of work

  • Rate of pay is £10.42 per hour, depending on assignment, 
  • Pay is weekly, with holiday pay accrued on top of the hourly rate, 
  • Working hours are flexible, across a range of assignments, with full-time hours available on some, allowing you to fit your work around your personal commitments, 
  • Access to free food hygiene training is also available, helping you not only in this position but aiding you in your future career,
  • You will be a part of a creative and rewarding work environment and be given the chance to focus on your career progression with opportunities to work at some of the most fun and dynamic venues in Glasgow and surrounding areas.  

 

Your personality, experience and qualifications

To be considered for these roles, experience in a busy environment is preferred but not essential.  You must be big on attention to detail and would take pride in keeping a kitchen and work area immaculate. For you, hospitality is more than just a job – it’s a passion!

As a key member of the kitchen team, you should possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to meet targets in a highly demanding environment. Consistently taking initiative and setting a high standard of service are key attributes for these positions. Being presentable and conscious of health and safety and food safety with the use of equipment and chemicals is a must! 

You will be a natural team player whilst having the ability to work independently, having the opportunity to learn from more senior members of the team to enhance not only your career progression but also your own personal development and transferable skills.

Candidates should have strong communication skills, speak English to a high standard and have great personal presentation. The venues are normally accessible by public transport, however some may require access to your own transport.
