Responsibilities within your new role
The role of the Finance Manager involves overseeing the accounting team's operations, including the preparation and submission of monthly reports and the annual statutory accounts for all entities. You will manage the annual audit and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department is a key duty, working in conjunction with Divisional Heads of Finance to establish effective procedures for cash and working capital management. Furthermore, it entails analysing fixed cost utilisation and ensuring the cost reporting processes are suitable. Lastly, the role encompasses various KPI reporting, analysis, and project work as needed.
Your personality, experience and qualifications
You should hold chartered accountant status (or equivalent) with sound technical knowledge, including IFRS/FRS 101, combined with extensive experience working within external audit or public practice. You should have experience in setting budgets whilst monitoring performance against these budgets. You should have analytical skills combined with attention to detail when reviewing financial information along with proven self-starter capabilities to manage workload independently without supervision. Proficiency in Excel along with various accounting package software (such as SAP) is required, along with a proven track record in a managerial role.
