I have had very good service from all at the Glasgow Office. They found me a temporary position, which I have now been in for more than a year. As a candidate, you are made to feel that nothing is a bother, which is not the case with some other organisations. They are very prompt at returning your calls and my weekly payment is never late or wrong. I do, however, speak more to Michelle. You are always very pleasant and friendly to deal with, which makes life a lot easier. Thank you Stafffinders for helping me.
Technical Production Manager Jobs
Technical Production Managers, also known as operations managers, play a leading role in the planning, co-ordination and controlling of all the resources needed to produce a company's goods and services.
Efficiency is key to being successful in this role as effective production managers ensure that goods are of the right quality, quantity, and cost as well as being produced on time to the satisfaction of the customer.
Many companies are involved in several types of production, adding to the complexity of the job. Technical Managers perform a vital function in overseeing human and material resources as well as ensuring the maintenance of an efficient production line.
What is involved in a Production Manager job?
At the pre-production stage, technical production managers are responsible for the selection and design of equipment; the plant layout; materials handling and production planning (including demand forecasting, production scheduling and ordering of material).
During the production stage, key responsibilities encompass production control (the sequencing of jobs, updating time schedules, etc); stock control; quality control; health and safety issues and the maintenance and replacement of production equipment. A large part of a technical production manager's role involves dealing with people, particularly those who work in your team, responsibilities may include scheduling work, disciplinary matters, identifying their training needs and progressing their career development. The role also covers product design and purchasing. In a small firm you may have to make many of the decisions yourself, but in a larger organisation planners, controllers, production engineers and production supervisors will assist you.
