Telesales Agent Jobs

Telesales agents are sales professionals who conduct their selling activities over the phone. Telesales agents are tasked with selling their organisations products to targeted customers, portraying a friendly, helpful and informative persona to help secure sales. Telesales Agents who are selling on behalf a company to other organisations are often be referred to as Sales Representatives, while Telesales Agents selling to individuals are often referred to as Telemarketing Representatives.

Daily Duties 

On any given day, a telesales agents’ workload will consist of the following: 

  • Meet daily with the team supervisor to discuss workload and set daily sales targets
  • Speaking with potential clients, with the aim of securing a sale
  • Conduct market research from clients to gain information regarding service provision and consumer satisfaction
  • Liaising with team members to aid in the selling process as and when required

What is required to be a great Telesales Agent?

To be an effective telesales agent, individuals must have an extensive knowledge about the product or service that they're selling. Telesales agents must possess great communication skills, as well as confidence when working over the phone. Successful candidates are normally ambitious, outgoing and confident with an excellent telephone manner. Commitment and a drive to succeed also make a good Telesales Agent.

Hours & Salary

Often, telesales agents will be required to work the traditional business hours; 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday. However, when involved in business to consumer (B2C) sector, telesales agents can expect to work a variety of shifts, including, mornings, days, evenings, weekends and public holidays. The average salary for telesales agents ranges from £18,000- £30,000 per year, with salary progression depending on experience and employing organisation.
