Typist jobs provide a comprehensive administration service to their department and to contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the office.

Typist jobs will be required to carry out are all general administrative duties, but mainly to ensure that all letters, reports and any other such documents are typed accurately and within the time constraints set out by their manager, which will involve preparing papers and correspondence through either copy or audio text, and making any necessary amendments as required. Therefore, excellent knowledge of the English language and grammar coupled with excellent PC skills are essential.

Typist jobs may also be required to assist in various reception/administration duties including answering the door or telephone, scheduling appointments, photocopying, faxing, taking dictation, composing and typing all routine correspondence and overseeing the management and distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.

Typist jobs require excellent communication and organisational skills coupled with confidence to work to tight and strict deadlines and will be required to have good attention to detail. Typist jobs will usually be assisting more than one manager and more often than not, will be arranging all correspondence for all senior members of staff.
