IT Sales Consultant Jobs

IT sales consultants can be a varied role. It involves several different forms of acquiring new business opportunities, and making sales. It is a target driven job, which can have long hours, but large financial earnings if successful.  Most IT sales consultants use telesales as one form of generating sales, as well as researching the market, and obtaining as much information as possible as to where their products will be needed and used.

What do you need to be an IT Sales Consultant?

IT sales consultants have full knowledge of their product, and if needed, have full technical ability and know how. They are required to be competitive, target driven, confident and extremely persistent in order to succeed. Interpersonal skills are of the up most importance, as creating and maintaining client relationships is priority to most employers.

Most require a qualification in various software packages, have strong industry knowledge and experience, they are however usually provided with new product training once employed.

Salaries can range from £20,000 to £40,000 depending on experience and location.
