Chief Data Officer Jobs
Digitally-ready organisations require Chief Data Officer jobs to drive business efficiencies and enhance risk management, especially after organisations have had to adapt to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data driven insights are highly valuable up and down the authority chain with about three-quarters of executive teams and nearly half of front-line employees demanding access to detailed data and analytics.
Chief Data Officer’s role is fast becoming a vital function as different areas of business seek to gain insights to improve the business further.
Typically responsible for defining data governance and quality data and regulatory compliance.
The Chief Data Officer’s role in business transformation
In order that an organisation’s digital transformation remains on track, the Chief Data Officer will need a wide range of skills to address the way that technology is deployed to address these issues.
You’ll work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead change.
What does it take to be a Chief Data Officer?
A background in data science and a passion for statistics and extracting actionable insights. The key element is to then communicate what those insights mean in a business context and make information easily available to all.
The CDO needs to ensure that those who need data to further inform decision making can do so and are sufficiently trained to gain business insights from that data.
Get involved in data management, including data migration on technology programmes, data governance and designing and implementing responses to regulations such as GDPR.
Analytics and reporting form a key part of this role, managing business risk, establishing the right controls, processes and structures to ensure that information can be trusted to improve decision making.
You’ll need to get to grips fast with the technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning.
