The duties of a welder may vary depending on projects; however, their main responsibilities will include the following;

  • Operate and maintain complex welding machinery

  • Follow and interpret blueprints, drawings and plans to ensure product specifications are met.

  • Fuse metal materials to create and repair structures

Working conditions and required skills:

Welding roles require candidates to have a strong hand to eye coordination and high levels of concentration. Welding jobs may also require candidates to work as part of a team, so communication and team working skills are also important. Welders must have a strong grasp of health and safety protocol due to the nature of the work.
