Sales Ledger Clerk Jobs in Glasgow

Sales Ledger Clerk jobs work closely with the credit control team dealing with allocation of cash, banking and reconciliations.  A ledger clerk will be required to maintain the sales ledger in a busy, high volume environment. The main focus of a sales ledger clerk jobs will be receiving incoming cash either by cheque or BACS, processing cash onto the system, allocating incoming payments and matching of payments to accounts.

Sales ledger clerk jobs involve providing copy invoices and statements, carry out daily banking duties, perform daily filing of remittance advice information as well as performing daily bank reconciliations, investigate misallocated cash, issuing credit notes to clients & reconciling client purchase orders.

The purchase ledger clerk may also be responsible for balancing total cheques, cash, BACS and credit card payments to cash book and possibly liaising with individual credit controllers in respect of cash, querying allocations and a senior sales ledger clerk will be responsible for month end procedures to meet strict deadlines.

Sales ledger clerks generally work regular office hours, Monday to Friday. But there are also plenty of part-time and flexible working options available in this role. You'll spend most of your time at your desk raising invoices and talking to clients, as it's all about good communication thrown in with some maths.

Salary and remuneration for sales ledger clerk jobs

As at 2020, salaries broadly ranged from £18,000 to £20,000 depending on private/ public sector, size of organisation, and team under managers remit.
