Accountant in Bankruptcy (AiB) reporting personal insolvencies in Scotland on an upward trend from the final quarter of 2019.
Corporate Recovery Insolvency jobs cover the administration of insolvencies, receiverships and liquidations. Within an insolvency department the Insolvency Assistant might deal with a mixture of corporate and personal insolvency cases under the supervision of the case managers. The main types of cases involved will be corporate insolvency and will incorporate closures on the corporate side, administrations and receiverships and liquidations. The insolvency assistants will also be required to provide general support to other staff, maintain personal working files and undertake training as the job develops.
The job is a challenging and varied one which may include planning, controlling and maintaining a portfolio of cases; progressing cases to closure; drafting reports and preparing documentation; attending statutory meetings; maintaining IPS records and diaries, and liasing with solicitors and agents.

Insolvency Administrator Jobs Qualifications
Candidates for Insolvency Assistant jobs are required to possess at least one year's experience preferably in a similar Insolvency role with good practical knowledge of insolvency. Some previous knowledge of insolvencies, receiverships or liquidations would be advantageous but is not essential. Beneficial to the role of Insolvency Assistant is previous experience of bank reconciliations, VAT, and any experience preparing cash flows or forecasts.
Day release support may be given to allow study of an appropriate accounting-based qualification such as AAT or ACCA and then possibly progress to study towards the Insolvency Qualification.
