Cost Engineer Jobs

Cost engineer jobs focus on ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget, cost engineer jobs play a key role in cost management, providing the cost input to the development and execution of major international green-field projects, whilst ensuring that all health and safety requirements are met.

Cost engineer jobs require regular interaction with the project manager and engineers to review contractor performance, cost risks, and contingency plans.
Depending on the project, cost engineer jobs specific responsibilities could include:

  • preparing forecasts based on spend, progress, changes, trends and risks
  • preparing and setting up a complete set of reporting documents to provide visibility of progress and cost
  • contributing to the establishment of a world-class safety mindset for the project

Cost engineer jobs entrant level will have at least a BSc, HTS or HBO technical qualification, or the equivalent knowledge level based on experience.  The entrant may have quality, documentation or project management experience.

The main job opportunities occur in mechanical engineering, motor vehicle, aerospace, oil and gas and shipbuilding industries.
