Technical Support Analyst Jobs

Technical support analyst jobs helps users to overcome computer hardware and software problems. They may deal with customers within their organisation or from other companies, and with home users. They may deal with customers over the telephone or by visiting in person.
 
 
Typically, the job technical support analyst will talk through the problem with a user and suggest possible solutions. A Technical Support Analyst will help users understand features of software packages and analyse the reasons for the breakdown.

Technial Support Analysts jobs include installing new equipment and upgrade existing computers. They test, repair and maintain equipment and also  arrange for faulty equipment to be replaced and supply give basic training to new users.
 
A technical support analyst job should have excellent communication skills. A technical support snalyst should be practical, with good analytical skills and be interested in computers and how they work. The job of a technical support analysts should be able to deal calmly and tactfully with customers.
 
There are around 30,000 people employed in technical support in the UK. Employers include information technology (IT) companies and organisations of all sizes, eg in retail, engineering, public utilities, and colleges and universities. Vacancies for jobs within technical support are steady, with some staff shortages. 

Qualifications 

For new entrants GCSEs/S grades or relevant NVQs/SVQs may be required. Some employers prefer people with higher-level qualifications, such as HNDs/HNCs or degrees in subjects like computing and IT.
 
With experience, there may be opportunities to be promoted within technical support departments or to move into other positions in IT generally. Some people may move into technical sales.
