Customs Compliance Manager
Customs compliance managers will manage, direct and maintain overall customs compliance procedures. Customs compliance managers ensure the company is operating best practices related to entry release of merchandise and has knowledge of all areas of UK customs regulations. Customs compliance managers duties include Harmonized Tariff Schedule, section notes and researching customs binding rulings and export regulations.
Customs compliance managers are responsible for measuring corporate compliance rating and achieving a minimum of a 95% overall compliance rate. The Customs compliance manager will oversee pre-classification of merchandise and manage line reviews on all product lines. Other duties that they are responsible for is to interpret and respond to all custom enquiries, administer customs training programmes to associates and monitor regulatory and legislative changes.
Customs compliance managers will manage and lead import co-ordinators as well as deal with supplier management duties including interfacing with freight forwarders, UK Customs Officer’s, customs brokers and external customers. Customs compliance managers implement and manage all customs and border protection programmes and corporate security programs.
Customs compliance managers will have a BS/BA degree with around 6-8 years experience, a degree in logistics or other related area and hold a current Customs Brokers License.
Customs compliance managers can earn around £25,000 rising to £55,000 depending on the type of company or organisation they work for.
