Sales Manager (Hotel/Catering)
The sales manager in a hotel determines strategies to maximize all streams of
revenue that can be attracted to the hotel to generate budgeted sales of
accommodation, conferences, banqueting and other hotel facilities. A sales manager will be very proactive and will continually be visiting potential clients and marketing the hotel and all its facilities.
In larger hotel groups, key accounts with major national and international companies must be maintained and the sales manager will often need to promote the brand. The role is varied, encompassing the selling and marketing of weddings, conferences, meetings, Christmas events, and, of course, room sales. The sales manager liaises closely with the general managers of the hotels within their area and all other sales managers within the company.
