Human Resources Manager (Hotel/Catering)

The human resources manager in catering has the unenviable task of trying to ensure that the employees remain motivated and committed and that consequently the turnover is kept to a minimum. 

The human resources manager will be responsible for recruiting and sourcing both staff and management and will be expected to anticipate, as far as is possible, the peaks and troughs throughout the year.  Excellent communication skills are required to deal with a varying caseload as is a clear understanding of all HR practices and employment legislation. 

The training and development of staff is also within the remit of a human resources manager and can significantly affect the profitability if managed properly.  The human resources manager will be in regular contact with all other heads of department to ensure a cost-effective deployment of staff.
